Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival – Expect it all in 2024
This is where stories are made, and here’s where your story starts – at the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival presented by The Australian Turf Club.
In a fun-filled month that’s elevated above all others, the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival will run from Saturday 16 March to Saturday 20 April across Sydney’s most-prized racecourses. Alongside world-class horse racing, the racing carnival will be brought to life by DJs, live music and rooftop bars.
In six action-packed weeks of thoroughbred racing, racegoers will be able to experience fun, thrills, friendship and spontaneity that’s elevated above all others. Chandon Ladies Day
The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival kicks off in style at Rosehill Gardens for Chandon Ladies Day, where Australia’s finest fillies and mares compete in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic. Grab your friends, glam up and enjoy a Ladies’ Day Out. Pink fashion, bubbles, champion fillies and party vibes with DJs and bands. It’s a story you’ll never want to end.
In support of the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation, pink fashion takes over for Sydney’s annual pink race day. You can take part in the Fashion Stakes, experience the pop-up bars or premium dining experiences, and treat your tastebuds to Sydney’s most exciting street food vendors. There is plenty to experience at the most elegant and vibrant event on the racing calendar. On the track, the highlight is the feature race, the legendary Group 1 $1million Coolmore Classic (1500M).
Don’t miss Autumn’s coveted fashion event, the Pink Fashion Lunch. Indulge in a delicious three-course menu, beverage package, fashion show and entertainment, all set against the backdrop of world-class racing.
TAB Golden Slipper Day
The TAB Golden Slipper Day is the jewel of Sydney’s Autumn Racing Carnival. The biggest day of Group 1 Racing in Australia makes this the hottest ticket on the Sydney racing calendar. Australia’s biggest day of Group 1 racing featuring five in total, headlined by the world’s richest race for two-year-olds in the $5 million TAB Golden Slipper.
With various ticket options available, including general admission and reserved grandstand ensures everyone will get to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this up-lifting and record-breaking event.
The excitement doesn’t end there with a free performance after the last by the world’s first time-travelling DJ, Hot Dub Time Machine.
Celebrate the day with champagne at pop-up bars or dazzle with a dash of gold in the Longines Prize for the Elegance fashion party. Enjoy the DJs and delight in Sydney’s finest street food vendors – all with the incredible atmosphere of the best race day in Sydney.
Stakes Day
Day three of the iconic Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival features two Group 1 races: The $1,500,000 Kia Tancred Stakes and the $750,000 Vinery Stud Stakes. As the final Autumn Carnival Day that is being held at Rosehill Gardens, no detail will be spared.
This is a day for everyone to enjoy, and open to the whole family, with family-friendly entertainment and fun throughout the day, there is something for every member of your family, including mum and dad.
Fizz with excitement at pop-up bars, experience premium dining, or treat your taste buds to Sydney’s most exciting street food vendors. With both a general admission ticket option, the easiest for families, and a trackside garden reserved ticket – there is an option for everyone.

The Star Championships Day 1
The best stories are in black and white. Royal Randwick opens its famous gates for the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival to host The Star Championships Day 1. It is a day rich in prize money, draped in the elegance of its black and white fashion and even richer in history with four Group 1 races.
As a nod to tradition, dress to impress in black and white attire and indulge in stylish dining or savour culinary delights from Sydney’s finest street vendors. With the world-class WINX Stand also open to all and offering spectacular rooftop views, trendy bars and live entertainment, who knows how your story will end?
Racing highlights include four Group 1 races: the $4,000,000 The Star Doncaster Mile (1600M), the $3,000,000 James Squire Smith Stakes (1200M), the $2,000,000 Australian Derby (2400M) and the $1,000,000 Inglis Sire’ (1400M).
The excitement doesn’t end there with time-travelling DJ, Hot Dub Time Machine returning to play another epic set.
Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day (Championships Day 2)
A day renowned for its feature race is the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which will be run for the 70th time this year. Prestige, assured legacy and record prize money of $4m guarantees a blockbuster race for the ages.
The ‘Grand Finals of Australian Racing’ offers a full race card including two other Group 1 races (the world’s most prestigious class of racing) the $2 million Schweppes Sydney Cup and the Group 1 $1 million The Star Australian Oaks.
WINX, the horse that captured a nation, made her unforgettable final run in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes in 2019. The Grandstand, named in her honour, WINX Stand, will be open to all.
This memorable day will deliver world-class racing, entertainment and dining experiences. Watch thoroughbreds in motion as they compete in the iconic $4m Queen Elizabeth Stakes before dancing your day away with Hot Dub Time Machine as the sun goes down.
Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day
The carnival’s last dance is set to sparkle with Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day, the finale of Sydney’s Autumn racing Carnival. Headlined by the Group 1 Schweppes All Aged Stakes and the Group 1 Moët & Chandon Champagne Stakes, the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is set to go out with a bang.
Soak up the unforgettable atmosphere as you party in style to DJ beats on the rooftop of the WINX Stand and take in the thrill of live Group 1 racing. A considerable racing card to finish the carnival with a bang, races include two iconic races, which will be run for the 160th time this year.
