Here’s your guide to the 2023 Sydney Royal Easter Show

Spend your Easter weekend celebrating everything that makes Australian culture great.

It’s not Easter in Sydney without a day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and this year promises to be the biggest and best yet – with all of your favourite carnival rides, entertainment, food, animals and of course, showbags!

Buy your tickets to the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2023 early to SAVE. Early Bird Tickets will be sold exclusively online from 9 February until midnight 5 April. Daily tickets are strictly limited so to avoid disappointment jump online to select your preferred day and save.

Want to enjoy the Show as the sun goes down? Pre-purchase an after 4pm Show Ticket to head down and enjoy everything on offer, with tickets providing access to all areas including non-reserved seats in GIANTS Stadium for the evening entertainment (subject to availability). After 4pm tickets are only available online until midnight 5 April.

When purchasing please select your day carefully, tickets are non-transferable to other Show days. Please note that transaction fees apply.

Ride & Play – from games to carnival rides, there’s fun for Showgoers of all ages

With 100s of rides and games on offer at the Show, Australia’s largest carnival will provide countless hours of fun for the whole family. Ride in style on the iconic Super Slide – float to the top of the rainbow jumbo slide on a state-of-the-art moving walkway before gliding on down. Then see the show from new heights aboard The KIIS Eye, with 360° floor to ceiling views you’ll be able to capture the whole Show from your fully lit gondola.

On Australia Avenue you’ll also find wild rides for thrill seekers, including Extreme Speed 2. Standing at 40m high and spinning at speeds that exceed 100kph it’s a white-knuckle ride adrenaline junkies won’t want to miss. Then challenge yourself on The Beast, swinging 45 metres into the air on the giant pendulum and the turbocharged XXXL that twists upside down and inside out at lightning speed.

The Beast

Furry friends are always a show favourite

From cute and cuddly to big and beastly, there will be 14,000 animals at the Show across a huge array of activations and demonstrations. Follow the footprints and stroll along the Animal Walk where you’ll encounter all type of creatures big and small including Sydney Royal award-winning animals and farmyard friends.

There will be more animals than ever before at this year’s Show and the Farmyard Nursery has been relocated to reduce lines and get you in faster to cuddle all the farmyard friends.

There’s also a bunch of new animal attractions at this year’s show including a Native Animal Display with all your favourite Aussie Bush Animals, Festival of Dog Sports where impressive canines will show off their best tricks in ‘fly ball’, ‘scent works’ and ‘dance dogs’ displays and Pig Washing where you can watch pig experts give a pig a bath!

Eat your way around the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Prepare your taste buds for the newest and most delicious food at the 2023 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, savoury, or indulgent, there’s something for everyone with a huge array of mouth-watering treats. In the showbag pavillion you won’t be able to miss the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls in the air with the world famous Cinnabon setting up their second NSW location at this year’s show. For the first time ever, Showgoers can also treat themselves to the deep-fried goodness of a Blooming Onion by Burger Head, located on Shoalhaven Street. Showgoers of all ages will also be able to experience the magic of the World’s Largest Glow in the Dark Fairy Floss – a colourful and whimsical treat that will light up your night at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

It’s also not too late to enjoy a taste delight with a Cheese or Charcuterie Board ($22) featuring Sydney Royal award-winning produce. Order through Ticketmaster with your tickets and collect your Sydney Royal Board from the Stables – the Show’s foodie destination, or the Tyrell’s Wine Bar located in the Dome.

Did you know you can host your own BBQ at the Easter Show for 10 or more people? It simply doesn’t get more Aussie than that – pick up the tongs at the biggest Backyard BBQ in Sydney. Your exclusive ‘backyard’ at GIANTS Stadium, during the Sydney Royal Easter Show, will be full of show jumping horses, stunt driving teams, draught horses, livestock and fabulous fireworks. You’ll have uninterrupted views of all the entertainment and action on the Show’s iconic Main Arena, plus an esky full of food and drinks! It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host your own BBQ in the biggest backyard in the city. There are 4 Backyard BBQ Bays available each night of the Show, each holds 10 people and can be ordered through Ticketmaster with your tickets.

At the show, the entertainment comes to you

You don’t have to stop and take a seat for the entertainment at the Sydney Royal Easter Show – it’s roaming around the grounds.

But if you need some time off your feet, make your way to the stands in GIANTS Stadium for an unmissable tribute to our past – with horse-drawn and motorcycle chariots, bullocks, and draught horses, the magnificent hot air balloon and more, before the night sky lights up with cascades of colour for the nightly fireworks display.

Of course there’s plenty more must-see entertainment across the Showgrounds to fill your day. Catch Bluey and her little sister Bingo live on stage during their daily Live Interactive Experiences at the Little Big Top Amphitheatre. You also won’t want to miss international dare devil Sam Powers in a nail biting, edge-of-your-seat spectacle as he escapes The Jaws of Death.

Don’t go home empty handed – check out the showbags

Did you even come to the Show if you go home without a Showbag or two? From novelties and television shows to magazines and make-up, magic and sweet treats or footy teams, there’s a showbag for everyone. This year’s most popular Showbag offerings include Bluey, Bubble Tea, May Gibbs, Minecraft and of course all the delicious confectionaries including Cadbury Favourites, Skittles, Bertie Bettle and more.

Getting to the Show

Every ticket to the Sydney Royal Easter Show includes travel on public transport to and from the Show between Thursday 6 April and Monday 17 April 2023.

Public transport services include Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses, Regular bus services, Sydney Ferries services and light rail services.
