Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is more than just a pretty face. A spirited young woman, she not only fights for her own dreams, but forces Prince Charming to open his eyes to the world around him and realise his dreams too.

Originally, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella was written for television – debuting in 1957 with Julie Andrews in the leading role, scoring an Emmy Award nomination for her stunning performance.

Since then, Cinderella was remade for television in 1965, starring Lesley Ann Warren, Ginger Rogers, Walter Pidgeon and Celeste Holm, before its latest TV incarnation featuring Brandy as Cinderella, Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, and Whoopi Goldberg as the Queen wowed audiences in 1997.

The stage version of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella made its long-awaited Broadway debut in January 2013, running for two years.

Now it is Australian audiences turn to experience this beautiful, enchanting tale live on stage.

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella will open at Sydney Lyric Theatre in October. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.
