Marking a historic moment for Australia and Street League Skateboarding, for the first time in its twelve-year history, Australia will host the flagship series of street skateboarding. Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena will be the battleground where skaters will showcase their skills and compete for top honours.
SLS is renowned for its innovative courses and and global media exposure that have propelled street skateboarding into the spotlight. With custom-built, one-of-a-kind, SLS-certified plazas, the competition takes place in major cities worldwide. Now, Sydney is joining this list of iconic cities as SLS brings its high-octane action to Australian soil.
The 2023 SLS Championship Tour has taken the competition to new heights with a reimagined format that promises a more immediate, immersive and action-packed experience for fans. The Select Series on Friday will see some of the best skaters in the world compete for an opportunity to earn their way into the 2023 SLS Sydney Championship the following day. Raising the stakes with a new winner takes all approach, the first place skater from Saturday’s event will directly qualify for the next SLS competition and also earns a place in the 2023 SLS Super Crown.
Street League Skateboarding in Sydney will feature a mix of homegrown Australian talent and international skateboarding stars. Rising Australian skater Chloe Covell, who has already made waves in the X Games and is an Olympic hopeful for Paris 2024, is eager to showcase her skills on her home turf. Alongside veteran Australian SLS Pro Tommy Fynn who is gearing up for the event, bringing his experience and enthusiasm to the competition.
