With one of the most stunning voices in Australian pop, it is hard to pass up an opportunity to watch Vera Blue in such a unique setting. From her early days with songs like ‘Hold’ or ‘Settle’, Blue carved out a path of her own, standing out from the pack with her impeccable songwriting and otherworldly voice.

Blue has been flying high over the last few years, lending her ethereal vocals to tracks from the likes of Flume, Louis The Kid, and performances with Running Touch, while her most recent single – and certified pop banger – ‘Lie To Me’ landed itself at #68 on triple j’s Hottest 100.

Vera Blue – Lie To Me (Acoustic)

Known for her soaring vocals and ethereal stage presence, the set will combine Blue’s folk-tinged moody electronica with traditional string accompaniment from the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, and The Fortitude Music Hall’s grand acoustics.

“What an honour and privilege to support the wonderful voice of Vera Blue, with her songs of magic and charisma. With BSO players, I am pleased to be able to accompany such songs as ‘Edelweiss” and ‘Xanadu’ to provide Vera with the orchestral colour that is so essential to be able to ‘love tomorrow’

Playing the second announced show in the Strings Attached series is Melbourne band The Smith Street Band. They started their 2021 with a return to the stage, after their fifth studio album Don’t Waste Your Anger debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Charts.

Ever since I heard Smashing Pumpkins’ orchestral rock classic ‘Tonight, Tonight’ I’ve always dreamt of getting the chance to play with a symphony orchestra. The way the strings and horns blend with distorted guitars and yelled vocals is exciting and unique and very powerful.

String Attached will launch at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Friday 26 March. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
