Sir Rod Stewart is set to make a triumphant return to Australian stages in 2022.
It’s been 50 years (we can’t believe it either) since Stewart released his first solo album An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, breaking away from more than a decade of fronting various bands, and kickstarting a career that would see him become one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
Still at the top of his game, his Australian run of shows will follow huge tours across both the UK and the USA, whose highlights include a series of shows at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace and a third sold-out Hollywood Bowl concert in LA where he reunited with his former bandmate Jeff Beck.
Across the last five decades, Stewart has scored nine #1 albums and 26 top ten singles in the UK, as well as 17 top ten albums and 16 top ten singles in the US. That’s before we even get into his love affair with Australia.
He’s a regular feature in every ‘Greatest Musicians of All Time’ list you can think of and as a solo artist, Stewart was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Faces.
Oh yeh, and there was also that time he was knighted in 2016 for services to music and charity — and becoming Sir Rod Stewart.
Now is your chance to hear all his greatest hits in the flesh, including ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’, ‘You Wear It Well’, ‘You’re In My Heart’, and of course ‘Maggie May’.
