The United Ukrainian Ballet brings its stunning rendition of Swan Lake to Melbourne this October.

Be swept away by the classic tale of good versus evil you know and love, brought to life before your eyes.

Indulge your spirits in this rare opportunity to witness the extraordinary Ukrainian Dance Company in the world’s most loved ballet. Four exclusive performances will be held at The Plenary in Melbourne, this October. The Australian season of Swan Lake follows seasons performed at the Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam and the prestigious London Coliseum.

Under the leadership of their artistic director, Igone de Jonge, former prima ballerina of the Dutch National Ballet, and the composition of Pior Tchaikovsky, the United Ukrainian Ballet company is bound to captivate and inspire audiences. This exquisite ensemble showcases award winning ballet dancers from Ukraine’s finest ballet houses; namely The National Opera of Ukraine, Kharkiv Opera Theatre and Odesa Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Beyond the inspiration portrayed by the story of Swan Lake, the lives behind the cast are a testament to the perseverance and empowerment of dedicated artists. Each dancer at The United Ukrainian Ballet has a story of how they escaped the devastations of war unravelling in their homelands, to embark on this journey to create something beautiful. Side by side, they turn chaos and inner turmoil into the most emotional dance event of the year, with grace and precision at no expense.

A swirling concoction of romance, tragedy and hope, the beloved story of Swan Lake sees Swan Queen, Odette, and Prince Siegfried fall deeply in love despite a sorcerous curse, desire, betrayal and trickery. Enter a world of passion and be fascinated by all production elements – stunning costumery, heartrending and inspiring music, profound choreography – from start to finish.

A portion of each ticket sold on the Australian tour will be donated by The United Ukrainian Ballet to The United Ukrainian Ballet Foundation. The Foundation aims to support Ukrainian artists and aid in the future rebuilding of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
