This is what Morning Tea with Ladies In Black looks like

This morning we joined theatre’s finest at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre to get the lowdown on Ladies In Black.

Tim Finn’s glorious new musical is written by Carolyn Burns and directed by Simon Phillips, all based on the Madeleine St John’s novel, The Women In Black.

Joining media and VIPs at the Plaza Ballroom today were Finn and Phillips, alongside a special performance by the fabulous cast.

The star performance came from rising actress Sarah Morrison, who makes her debut as young, book-smart Lisa whose passion and drive for learning leads her endearing coming of age story.

We previously reported Ladies In Black to be everyone’s new favourite musical and this morning’s Melbourne preview proved exactly why.

Ladies In Black is set in Sydney, 1959 – a city compromised with the repression of the ’50s and liberation of ’60s. We follow Lisa as she discovers the vibrant world of prestigious department store, F.G. Goodes.

There’s no surprise Ladies In Black is being dubbed ‘the best Australian musical since Priscilla’ by so many.

Ladies In Black is now booking at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre, with a limited run between 25 February and 18 March 2017 – book now at Ticketmaster.com.au.
