Everything on offer this Thursday at the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

The most underrated day of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX!

On-Track Action

Kicking off all the on-track entertainment at this year’s FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX is the Porsche Carrera Cup. Building on the success of the 2022 event, the 2023 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup season is set to be the biggest yet. With a capacity field, incredible racing cars and some of Australia’s best Pro and Pro-Am sports car drivers, you won’t want to miss a second of the action. Thursday morning will see the practice session get underway, before Qualifying and Race 1 take over the Circuit in the afternoon.

The first day of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX will also see Supercars return to the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit for the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint. At this year’s event, Supercars will race for points on all four days, marking the first time in the sport’s 63-year history that a race will be held on a Thursday. The cars will hit the track for two practice sessions, two qualifying sessions and Race 1. All grandstands are free on Thursday meaning there’s plenty of vantage points available to witness the fast-paced action.

Thursday’s lineup also includes the Shannon’s Historic Demonstration – 70th Year Celebration which will showcase exotic and classic cars from across the world. Some of the great names of the world of motorsport will be on show, including Lotus, Ferrari, Bentley and Jaguar.

Off-Track Entertainment

The afternoon will see Aussie MotoGP legend Mick Doohan and his son Jack, current Formula 2 Driver and Alpine’s reserve Formula 1 driver, up on stage in front of the crowd.

There’s plenty going on at the Tech Hub on Thursday too. A regular feature of the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX, The Tech Hub shines a light on the new and future technologies emerging from Australia’s leading companies in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Formula 1, automotive, Defence, aviation, aerospace, education institutes and start-ups.
