Return of iconic hill to hallmark 2023 West Test

This year’s West Test will go back to the future by paying homage to the WACA’s iconic hill.

The Australian men’s team will return to our shores on the back of its most successful period since the ‘golden era’ of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Fresh off an incredible winter that saw them win the Test Championship, retain the Ashes and win the recent 50 over World Cup, Australia will kick off its summer against Pakistan.

Commencing on the 14th of December, the West Test will be the first of the NRMA Insurance Test Series. The rebranding of the Perth Test as ‘West Test’ will mark the return of the iconic hill that was ever so popular at Perth’s previous test match venue, the WACA.

The West Test Hill presented by NRMA Insurance will be a family friendly, three-tiered grass area taking over 4 bays at Perth Stadium, welcoming up to 500 patrons at a time.

Fans that buy a ticket and attend the West Test will be encouraged to dress in team colours for a chance to enjoy some cricket from the WACA Ground inspired hill at no extra cost.

The space will open when gates open, hosting a morning and afternoon session on each day of play. Information to access the West Test Hill will be shared with ticket holders in pre-match communications and on the big screen in stadium throughout each day of the match.

Australia will be looking to continue its hot form into the summer by winning their third consecutive Benaud-Qadir Trophy. A big talking point will be David Warner, who is beginning his final international summer. He would no doubt be looking to replicate his last home summer performance against Pakistan, where he was named player of the series.

After a disappointing showing at the World Cup, Pakistan will want to put on a strong performance under the leadership of new captain, Shan Masood. Masoon takes over as captain following the resignation of Babar Azam.

The West Test will take place at Perth Stadium from 14 to 18 December. Tickets can be purchased now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
