It’s official, Western Force are ready to return to the world of rugby.

The Perth-based rugby union club will now be competing in a World Series competition, with seven invitational matches.

These matches will be played between both national representative sides (from the Asia Pacific region), as well as former Super 15 rivals.

All matches in the series will be held in Perth at nib Stadium, from May to August this year. They will be competing against all of Fiji, Tonga, Rebels, Crusaders, Samoa, Hong Kong and Japan.

The Force have assembled a strong squad from all of Western Australia, across the rest of Australia, and internationally.

Players include former Springbok superstar Jaque Fourie, Masivesi Dakuwaqa the Olympic Gold Medalist, and former Western Force players Peter Grant, Ian Prior and Marcel Brache. They have also recently announced the signing of former Force hooker, Heath Tessmann, who played for the club previously from 2013-2017. Tim Sampson is also the head coach of the side.
