Put this lineup on a mantle alongside all their ARIA Awards
“I only win.” The words of Tim Tszyu will be ringing in the ears of Jeff Horn as the two go toe-to-toe next month.
Lock Wednesday 26 August into the calendar, with the fight finally back on at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.
The fight was initially scheduled for April, before being postponed, with a 16,000 capacity now permitted to witness the showdown.
The All-Australian ten-round super welterweight fight will pit two of the country’s best boxers against each other.
Former WBO welterweight Champion, Horn, sits at a 20-2-1 record, but will go in as the underdog against 25-year-old 15-0-0 Tszyu, son of boxing legend Kosta Tszyu.
Both will enter the fight in the winner’s circle after Horn defeated Michael Zerafa in December, and Tszyu toppled Jack Brubaker.
Horn believes his experience is what gives him the edge over a younger Tszyu, saying, “Tim has never fought the opposition that I have. He’s got relatively little experience in that manner.”
Tszyu, on the other hand, sees his dedicated training regime and commitment to the sport as the reason he cannot be beaten.
“Nothing else in my life matters other than boxing,” Tszyu says. “Losing is not an option for me.”
It sets up a mouth-watering fight, made even more appealing given the time we have been forced to wait.
