Celebrate the 30th year of the Hobart International

Not long to go until the 30th edition of the Hobart International kicks off, promising to deliver one of the most competitive and star-studded tournaments in recent history. Taking place from the 6th to the 11th of January, this year’s event boasts the deepest field in years, featuring a blend of Grand Slam champions, seasoned veterans, and rising stars, all vying for the coveted title in Tasmania’s capital.

The Hobart International has long been a proving ground for tennis greats, with its past champions often going on to achieve remarkable success in their careers. Notable winners include Kim Clijsters, who claimed the crown during her journey to becoming a multiple Grand Slam champion and world No. 1, and Petra Kvitová, whose triumph in Hobart was a stepping stone to her two Wimbledon titles and a Hall of Fame-worthy career. Australian tennis star Alicia Molik also etched her name into the tournament’s history, using her victory in Hobart as a springboard to break into the top 10.
