Cellar Door Series; new winery concert series launching with Ben Folds
Is there any better way to enjoy the great outdoors than with a glass of wine while watching your favourite musicians? We don’t think so, and neither do the legends at a day on the green, that’s why they’ve announced their latest initiative; Cellar Door Series.
Featuring the same combination of good food, fine wine, and great music in stunning locations that a day on the green are known for, Cellar Door Series lands with a unique twist.
Bringing an intimacy to each of these gigs, the Cellar Door Series will offer up an up-close, acoustic, and stripped back experience, held adjacent to the cellar doors of some of the most picturesque wineries across the country.
The series is set to launch with none other than multi-talented musical maestro, singer-songwriter Ben Folds at Bimbadgen winery in the stunning Hunter Valley next month.
We’re sure to hear treats from across his enormous body of genre-bending music – from his pop albums with Ben Folds Five, to his multiple solo albums, and numerous collaborative records, including hits like ‘Rockin’ the Suburbs’, ‘Underground’, ‘Brick’, ‘The Luckiest’, and ‘You Don’t Know Me’.
He’ll be joined by incredible singer-songwriter Gordi. Fresh from releasing her second album Our Two Skins last June – nominated for an ARIA and two J Awards – she also spend much of 2020 donning the scrubs to assist with under-staffed local hospitals in Melbourne during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Cellar Door Series will ease A Day On the Green fans back into live music safely without compromising on quality entertainment…Twenty years and nearly 500 shows since we launched a day on the green, it’s exciting to announce something new that will complement the a day on the green experience.

To ensure the event is COVID-Safe, fans will be seated in a socially-distanced general admission environment, and required to bring their own standard camping chairs.
As well as a much needed return to live music, 2021 is also giving us ample new ways to experience it.
Ben Folds and Gordi will launch Cellar Door Series at Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley on Saturday 20 March. Tickets go on sale Friday 19 February @ 1pm (local) via Ticketmaster.com.au.
