AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2020 is back this November

Time to dig out your t-shirts again!

AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2020 is back, giving you another perfect opportunity to show your support for your favourite Aussie musicians.

The first AusMusic T-Shirt Day for the year took place back in April, – raising over $26,000 for Support Act’s COVID-19 Emergency Appeal – but after what has been a difficult year for the industry, it’s a great time to come together again.

For anyone unfamiliar, Support Act has been there from day one assisting musicians, crew and industry workers and their families who have been doing it tough. Thanks to this year’s AusMusic T-Shirt Day, we can all show how much we love and care for the people who create the soundtracks to our lives and make us smile and dance.

As well as being a huge, nationwide celebration of Australian music and the incredible resilience of our industry, AusMusic T-Shirt Day is also a great opportunity to rep merch from your favourite artists and to help raise desperately needed funds to meet the ever-growing demand on Support Act’s services, with requests for Crisis Relief having increased by 883% since the pandemic began, and calls to the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline having increased by 52%.

Launch Ambassadors and Campaign Champions for this year’s official AusMusic T-Shirt Day include Keith Urban, Missy Higgins, Briggs, The Teskey Brothers, Jaguar Jonze, Alex Lahey, Cry Club, Mo’Ju and more.

“Raising funds for musicians, crew and music workers has never felt more important than in 2020,” Keith Urban says. “I want to do what I can to support local music…let’s kickstart AusMusic T-Shirt Day by all getting involved.”

How to get involved in AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2020:

Ticketmaster Australia, Live Nation, and Moshtix are joining together to help raise money for all the important work that Support Act do. If you’d like to join in, you can find our team link here.

If you have the means, jump onto the websites of your favourite Australian musicians and purchase yourself a new t-shirt (or hat, tote bag, badge, pair of socks, beanie, etc) ready for the big day. There are so many incredible designs out in the world, and purchasing directly from your favourite artists means that that money can help sustain them when they need it most. (If you need some inspo, Support Act has pulled together some exclusive T-Shirt designs from artists including Amy Shark, Kylie Minogue, Paul Kelly, Briggs, and more OR you can head to their Merch Partners Page too.)

Pull out some merch you’ve already got. Maybe you don’t need any new clothes right now, and that’s okay too. But if you’ve got some merch tucked away in your wardrobe, now is the time to upgrade your PJs.

Share on social media – post a photo of you wearing your merch on all your socials, tag the band, tag us, tag Support Act, show your friends and encourage them to get involved too.

Maybe you don’t have the means to buy some new merch but want to lend a hand anyway. If you haven’t heard about Support Act, have a read about everything they are doing here, and then consider making a donation to help those in the music industry doing it tough right now.

Shout about your favourite bands – put their songs into your Spotify playlists, share their music on your social media, make a Facebook post about how much you love them. AusMusic T-shirt Day is more than just a day to wear a cool shirt (though that is a great perk) it is also a day to celebrate, support, and show love to all the Australian artists that make our days a little bit brighter – and that’s something we definitely need right now.

Show your support – AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2020 will take place on Friday 20 November.
