Multi-sensory experience ‘Wisdom & Light’ to celebrate the extraordinary journey of Venerable Master Hsing Yun in Melbourne this September

In a world first, multi-sensory audio-visual experience Wisdom & Light will fuse art, light, and sound with digital technology to celebrate the extraordinary journey of Venerable Master Hsing Yun.

For just four weeks this September, this never-before-seen experience will bring together art, light, sound, and digital technology to completely immerse you while delighting all of your senses.

Created by world-leading digital artists Artists in Motion, floor to ceiling visuals will trace the wisdom and mission of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of Fo Guang Shan, one of the world’s largest Buddhist organisations.

Storytelling combines with cutting-edge technology to take you through the journey of a boy, who fortifies his faith and strengthens his resolve to grow from a childhood of poverty and oppression to a world leader and beloved teacher, spreading the teachings of the Buddha around the globe.

From the very first gong of a centuries-old temple bell, prepare to be mesmerised as you navigate stormy oceans, wind through emerald green forests, travel from war stricken villages to starry skies and clouds – all projected across the walls and floor of this custom-designed venue.

The multi-sensory experience also includes a separate gallery that chronicles Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s wisdom, technique, and influence through calligraphy, and includes an interactive calligraphy writing activity. Then, wander and relax within the Lotus Flower Sanctuary – a collection of custom-made illuminated sky-high lotus flower stalks, set against the backdrop of a sparkling city skyline.

Then, indulge in vegetarian delicacies crafted by Melbourne Nobu’s former Head Chef at the Wisdom & Light Café.

Wisdom & Light will transform the Golden Square Rooftop at 217 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne from Thursday 1 September until Sunday 2 October. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
