The Flemington Racing Spectacular returns in 2024 over four sensational Saturdays!
Kicking off on the 17th of February with Black Caviar Lightning Race Day, the Flemington Racing Spectacular will consist of four action-packed race days. These extraordinary days will feature thrilling Group 1 racing and fabulous entertainment, promising an unparalleled racing experience.
Indulge in the ultimate retro experience as the Flemington Fareground takes on a resort vibe for this year’s Flemington Racing Spectacular. Enjoy an outdoor extravaganza of food, drinks, entertainment and attractions to suit racegoers of all ages. Entry is free with your race day ticket.
Black Caviar Lightning Race Day
Black Caviar Lightning Race Day is the opener to the Flemington Racing Spectacular and the first of four thrilling Group 1 race days in February and March.
Join us in celebrating the legacy of the great Black Caviar whose stellar career consisted of 25 undefeated races. Some of the world’s fastest horses will be lining up in the $1,000,000 Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m), named in the legendary mare’s honour.
Howden Australian Guineas Day
The 2024 Flemington Racing Spectacular continues with Howden Australian Guineas Day and the running of the time-honoured Group 1 Australian Guineas over 1600 metres.
The country’s most talented three-year-olds will line up over the Flemington mile in the $1 million Group 1 Howden Australian Guineas (1600m). The undercard features the rich $750,000 Inglis Sprint (1200m) a race restricted to Inglis Sales graduates, and the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m).
Super Saturday
Australia’s most famous sprinting handicap, the $1.5 million Group 1 Yulong Newmarket Handicap (1200m), is a highly anticipated sprint on the racing calendar for racing purists and eventgoers alike.
This year will mark 151 years of the Newmarket Handicap, which boasts an honour roll of some of our greatest sprint champions and memorable underdogs.
TAB Australian Cup Day
TAB Australian Cup Day is a pivotal day on the racing calendar and a fitting finale to the Flemington Racing Spectacular.
The $3 million Group 1 TAB Australian Cup (2000m) counts many of the greats of the Australian turf on its honour roll. Last year’s edition was taken out by James Cummings trained Cascadian.
The undercard is packed with action, including the Listed Lexus Roy Higgins (2600m) with a prizemoney purse of $500,000 and a sought-after Golden Ticket for the winner into the 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup.
Experience everything the Flemington Fareground has to offer on its final day of the Flemington Racing Spectacular. Bring the kids and join us for delightful Easter entertainment, featuring special appearances from the Easter Bunny. Engage in Easter Arts & Crafts, where kids can create their own Easter keep-sake. The highlight of the day is the Easter Egg Hunt, with exclusive sessions available for Phar Lap Club and Junior Members to embark on a thrilling quest for chocolate Easter eggs.
Visit the Flemington Fareground
The Flemington Fareground takes on a new look for this year’s Flemington Racing Spectacular. From roller skating, karaoke and fareground rides and activities – to wine tasting, pizza and picnic hampers, there’s entertainment for all ages!

– Food and beverage options for all ages
– Free entertainment and activities all day long, including ‘Party Hour’ from 2:30pm – 3:30pm each day with resident DJ and drink specials.

Public Products
Race goers will have plenty of different options when attending Flemington during the Racing Spectacular. General Admission tickets are only $30 and there are a variety of options that can enhance your experience.
Mates Rates (starting from $40pp)
Secure a Mates Rates table for 4 or 6 on the Flemington Front Lawn and get ready for a day filled with Group 1 racing, awesome Winning Post views and live entertainment. Plus, each table scores a ‘bucket of drinks’ on arrival.

Group of Mates ($95pp)
Your Group of Mates upgrade secures you a private fenced off area with tables, chairs and umbrellas on the Flemington Front Lawn with great trackside views of The Winning Post and live entertainment for groups of between 16 to 50.
Plus, enjoy a selection of hot snacks delivered to your site at nominated time, including 400 Gradi Pizza, gourmet party pies, sausage rolls and hot chips. Each person will also receive a $50 voucher to redeem on additional food or beverages at Saintly Place Sports Bar, The Elms Can Bar and some food outlets within the Flemington Fareground.
Picnic Pods (starting from $40pp)
Secure a Picnic Pod reserved table for 6 located on the Front Lawn West and enjoy a day filled with Group 1 racing and entertainment. Plus, each table receives a ‘bucket of drinks’ on arrival.
