HOOPSFEST FANZONE TO IGNITE PERTH
Perth will be transformed into a hoop lover’s dream in September when the HoopsFest Fan Zone opens at Forrest Place.
Running across HoopsFest from September 19-22, the Fan Zone will be a can’t miss event that brings the culture and entertainment of basketball to life in a fun and engaging way.
The free Fan Zone offers something for everyone, including appearances by NBL and WNBL players, meet and greets, signing sessions, skill clinics, live music, DJs, mascots, and more. Enjoy activities like a 3×3 court, slam dunk exhibition, three-point contest, 3x3Hustle, a Special Olympics 3×3 event, giveaways, open shooting, food trucks, and merchandise stands.
BASKETBALL WITHOUT BORDERS
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in collaboration with the National Basketball League (NBL) today announced that the 14th edition of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia will be held at Warwick Stadium in Perth from 19 Sep – 22 Sep.
BWB Asia 2024 will bring together 30 boys and 30 girls aged 17 and under from across Asia-Pacific to learn directly from current and former NBA, WNBA and FIBA players, legends and coaches and compete alongside their peers from across the region.
NBL LEGEND CARMELO ANTHONY TO HEADLINE HOOPSFEST
Carmelo Anthony, a sports icon, entrepreneur and one of the greatest NBA players of all time, is set to headline the biggest weekend in Australian basketball history. Next month, the 10x NBA All-Star will travel to Perth, Western Australia, to immerse himself in all elements of HoopsFest and give fans the chance to interact with one of the top scorers in the league’s history.
On September 19, 2024, Anthony will attend the NBL season opener with current champion Tasmania JackJumpers taking on Melbourne United. He will also be getting a first look at this year’s class of Next Stars, as part of his recently announced Global Ambassador role for the NBL Next Stars program. Anthony has also been named future owner of an NBL expansion team.
