The Bluesfest Mixtape
Unlike many of the larger festivals, Bluesfest has its roots firmly planted in one location. For many attendees, this means blowing the dust off the driving gloves and clocking the kms across Australia’s arterials. It also means making a mixtape.
My buddies and I will be making the 19 hour journey from Melbourne to Byron Bay. Plenty of time to learn new artists from the lineup, reacquaint yourself with old favourites and stretch the vocal chords.
Below are a few highlights:
Jack Johnson – Talyor – Merge from Ring Road on to Hume Highway
Morcheeba – Rome wasn’t built in a day – Half way along the Hume.
Ozomatli – Cut Chemist Suite – Left on to the M7 towards Newcastle.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Home – Passing Port Macquarie on the Pacific Highway
Buddy Guy (with Junior Wells) – Catfish Blues – Left on to Bungalow Road
