We talk to Patti Newton about Follies!

We didn’t think the cast of Follies could get any better and then the King and Queen of the Australian entertainment industry were announced as the latest performers to take the stage at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Bert and Patti Newton will join an already stellar cast for Follies for three shows only on May 24-25. Click here to get your tickets now.

The already announced cast of Follies includes David Hobson, Nancye Hayes, Lisa McCune, Cheryl Barker, Philip Quast and Debra Byrne. The addition of Bert and Patti Newton takes the all-star cast to new heights.

Follies is a brilliant musical written by Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman. The storyline centres on a reunion in a crumbling Broadway theatre with the past performers of the Weismann’s Follies reminiscing.

Bert and Pattie Newton will play former vaudeville stars, Theodore and Emily Whitman, and they will perform a show-stopping routine on stage for each performance.

Follies also features 23 musicians as well as 19 featured cast members and 10 ensemble members. It is a remarkable production and one you definitely do not want to miss.

But enough of hearing from us about how great Follies is; we went straight to the Queen herself. Check out our Q&A with Patti Newton and hear all about her upcoming role in Follies in Concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
