Nick Cave, Flume and more revealed in 12th Australian Music Prize longlist

The 12th annual Australian Music Prize has revealed its longlist for 2016 and it features Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Flume, The Avalanches and loads more brilliant homegrown artists.

After whittling it down from a whopping 364 albums, the longlist aims to celebrate the very best in Australian music before releasing a shortlist and then an overall award winner.

Last year, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett bagged the top spot with her highly acclaimed record, Sometimes I Sit and Think, Sometimes I Just Sit.

The 12th Australian Music Prize announces its shortlist on 18 January before the final winner is confirmed on March 2016 and awarded $30,000 in prize money.
