Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight is returning to Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and the excitement has inspired us to make a Christmas playlist of our own.
To quote a classic, Christmas really is the most wonderful time of year. From spending time with those you care about most to eating delicious meals or sharing thoughtful gifts – there really is a lot of love and warmth floating around.
And best of all, this time of year even has its own special soundtrack. And while some of us might dip into the Christmas carols 12 months of the year, there is something truly special about flipping your calendar over to December and turning on some music you haven’t heard since last year.
We’re helping you get into the Christmas spirit with our handpicked selection of Christmas carols, in a playlist we like to call Ticketmaster’s Christmas Cracker. It’s chock full of surprises – from Christmas classics, to pop belters, merry originals, and reworkings that have added a contemporary feel to the songs we love most.
It’s even more special when you can hear those same carols performed live, and that’s exactly what Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight offers up every year. Returning to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and broadcast across the country on Christmas Eve, some of the most popular classical and contemporary performers are getting ready to join in this beloved annual Australian Christmas tradition.
To make it even better, all of the funds raised by Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight go directly to provide services for children who are blind or have low vision and their families.

Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight will take place at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Christmas Eve, Monday December 24, with a special rehearsal night on Sunday December 23. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com.au.
