We asked you to choose your favourite live event of 2019 and you answered in your thousands – crowning Come From Away at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre as Ticketmaster’s Ticket of the Year 2019 in Australia.

Topping this year’s list is critically-acclaimed, award-winning musical Come From AwayMaking it’s debut at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre in July, the heartwarming and powerful production is also currently playing on Broadway and in Toronto, North America and London’s the West End.

Based on the true story of thousands of passengers diverted to the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland in Canada following the events of September 11, 2001. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust and music soared into the night. Capturing the true capacity for human kindness, even in the hardest of times, it’s no wonder Come From Away has resonated with Australian audiences so greatly.

Producer Rodney Rigby says, “We are absolutely thrilled that Come From Away has been crowned Ticketmaster’s Ticket Of The Year. For the last four months, the production has been wowing audiences from all over Australia and it’s great that it’s become a fan favourite this year.”

Not far behind though, Come From Away held off stiff competition from other fan favourites including the magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as well as international rock superstars Red Hot Chilli Peppers, smash-hit Book of Mormon (on the list for a third year running), and comedy hero Tim Minchin.

We were truly blessed with greatness this year!
