From Tuesday 8 January until Saturday 16 February, St.George OpenAir Cinema combines must-see film with delicious food and drink all in their luxurious harbourside venue. It’s a new way to experience summer in the city.

The films

World-class cinema is on its way to the Harbour this summer. The 2019 program will feature a selection of premiere and preview screenings, as well as new Oscar hopefuls, blockbusters and a selection of this year’s best films.

If music is your jam then spend an evening watching Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody or Bradley Cooper/Lady Gaga romantic drama A Star Is Born – the soundtracks in both will have you singing out loud for sure. Power women are on show throughout the season too with Mary, Queen of Scots, Widows,  and Ladies in Black all featuring. Rom-coms Crazy Rich Asians and Instant Family will have you in stitches, while the Liam Neeson-led Cold Pursuit will have you on the edge of your seat. And that’s only scratching the surface.

The food

From 6.15pm every screening night, the harbourside restaurant and bar is the perfect spot to be. With over 1000 dining seats throughout the event, meet up with friends after work to enjoy the sunset and the best views in Sydney.

Matt Moran’s Sydney dining institution, Chiswick, will bring a mouth-watering signature menu specially designed for St.George OpenAir Cinema. Everything from pulled lamb shoulder to Alaskan crab roll and a range of fresh salads will be on offer.

To quench your thirst, the Kirin Bar serves up a range of beer and cider, Petaluma wines, Croser sparkling and Moet champagne as well as some specially designed Archie Rose cocktails to get you in the summer mood.

If you’re looking for something extra special, every night of the cinema you can upgrade to an outdoor reserved dining package. For $20, you get a reserved dining seat on the outdoor dining deck, a reserved seat in the grandstand and if you arrive by 6:45 pm, a complimentary glass of Croser sparkling on arrival. On select nights, you can also upgrade your tickets into The Lounge by Aria, which is the exclusive onsite a la carte Aria restaurant. It’s the most luxe way to experience the cinema, with some of Sydney’s best food and best views and a reserved premium seat in the grandstand.
