The stage adaptation of the Oscar award-winning 1994 Australian film, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, tells the story of two Sydney drag artists, Tick and Adam, and a transgender woman, Bernadette, who are contracted to perform a drag show at a resort in Alice Springs.
On the journey across the desert to Alice Springs, travelling in a converted bus they have christened Priscilla, this unlikely trio encounters eccentric outback characters, misunderstandings both hilarious and serious, acceptance, love, and the exuberance of performance.
With an incredible wardrobe of outrageous costumes and a soundtrack chock-full of iconic pop songs including ‘It’s Raining Men’, ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’, ‘Shake Your Groove Thing’, ‘Hot Stuff’, and absolute anthem ‘I Will Survive’ – Priscilla is a celebration of everything that makes us human.
Priscilla has been seen by over six million fans worldwide and continues to dazzle audiences across the globe.
The Perth season will feature an incredible 30-strong cast including Cougar Morrison as Tick (Mtizi), Nick Mayer as Adam (Felicia), and Kath and Kim’s Peter Rowsthorn as Bernadette.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert will land at Crown Theatre Perth from Friday 7 May 2021. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
