Muriel’s Wedding The Musical to make its world premiere in Sydney

Muriel’s Wedding The Musical is happening and it’s making its world premiere in Sydney later this year.

Thanks to a collaboration from Sydney Theatre Company and Global Creatures, the beloved Aussie film has now been reworked for stage.

The film’s original writer-director, PJ Hogan, has adapted the script for the musical with music and lyrics by award-winning singer-songwriters Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall.

Not forgetting those much-loved ABBA hits that will remain in the production alongside the new soundtrack.

Director Simon Phillips (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead) leads an impressive creative team, with eye-popping visuals and costumes from Gabriela Tylesova (Love Never Dies).

With a big cast and a live band, critics are dubbing this one of the most exciting theatre events of the year.

Muriel’s Wedding The Musical opens at Roslyn Packer Theatre, Sydney on 6 November 2017 and is currently booking until 20 January 2018.

Tickets will be available via general sale from 13 March at
