Best dining spots at Crown Theatre Perth

Whether you're looking to impress a date or have a night out with mates, these are our top recommendations for the best eats pre- and post-theatre in Perth

Theatre Guide

With Tony Award-winning musical The Book of Mormon making its Perth premiere this year, there has never been a better time to make a date for dinner and a show.

Whether you’re headed out with some mates or looking for a first (or third) date restaurant to impress, we’ve got you covered with a round-up of our favourite spots at Crown Perth.

Dinner to impress

Epicurean

If you’re looking to impress your date, Epicurean would be our first port of call. We love the open kitchen aspect that lets you watch as some of the city’s finest chefs cook up a storm at one of the four live cooking stations. If you love the theatre, then dinner at Epicurean is the icing on the cake of a dramatic evening. Plus, it’s a built-in talking point if things are a little awkward, winning.

Bistro Guillaume

Take your date to the city of love with a true Parisian experience at Bistro Guillaume. Gorge on French classics like cheese soufflé or steak tartare within a luxurious interior that will make you feel like you’re dining along the Seine. Better still, you can drop in for an indulgent French cheese and chocolate tasting platter perfectly paired to complement each other. Hopefully, by the end of the night, you’ll find out if you and your date perfectly complement each other and if not, try again with another show (and date) next week.

Nobu

If you want a dinner that will impress with just its name, it’s gotta be Nobu. Created by Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, Nobu combines traditional Japanese with a Peruvian flair that is completely unique and world famous. If you like a little theatrics with your food, Nobu at Crown Perth offers a teppanyaki table perfect for a group of friends or co-workers to give you a little taste of the theatre experience you’re headed to after dinner.

Mates night out

The Merrywell

Heading to the theatre with some mates? Grab dinner before the show at The Merrywell. For your true blue mate, they have killer updated traditional pub fare like watermelon pork belly and a parma worthy of your Nonna. For the carnivores in the group, these guys are famous for their meat, with American-style burgers and fries, steak with a side of mac & cheese bites, and a ‘Hardcore Carnivore’ platter with enough on it to give you the meat sweats. Even if you’ve got a mate doing whole 30 (don’t we all?), The Merrywell has got you covered with some absolutely delicious salads.

If you’re just after drinks, they have a decent selection of beers on tap and a bunch more by the bottle to satisfy even the pickiest in your crew. The wine list has enough to cover your snobbiest mate, and the cocktail list is also pretty darn tasty. Bonus, you can order by the litre if you’re extra thirsty.

Atrium Buffet

If you miss the days of dine-in Pizza Huts where you could eat until your heart was content (and your belt was a few holes looser) then Atrium Buffet should be on your list. However, this is no pizza and soft serve affair. Atrium is premium dining at its finest with gorgeous seafood, antipasto, and a variety of cuisines to choose from. Let’s not even go into the dessert bar that we continually fantasise about while eating our sad desk salads at work. We’d recommend this for those who can never find a cuisine to satisfy every one in their crew because you don’t have to pick and choose – it’s all there.
