Come From Away to support Guide Dogs Victoria
The critically-acclaimed and award-winning Broadway musical Come From Away will hold a very special one night only performance dedicated to Guide Dogs Victoria.
Broadway smash-hit Come From Away arrives at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre this July and today have announced a one-off special charity performance that will help raise money for Guide Dogs Victoria.
Show your support for the puppers and doggos with one of the most important jobs in the world, enabling those who are blind and have low vision to live an independent life, and empowering them to achieve their goals.
Guide Dogs Victoria are about so much more than just dogs though, offering wider support for people with low vision or blindness through a variety of programs. These programs receive less than ten per cent in Government funding for services other than Guide Dog Mobility, which is fully reliant on community donations.

With approximately 15,000 Victorians diagnosed with some form of vision loss every year, it is more important than ever to support these programs.
Reflecting values closely aligned with Guide Dogs Victoria, Come From Away is based on the incredible true story of 7,000 air passengers who were diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland in Canada in response to the September 11 tragedy. The community that invited the ‘come from aways’ into their lives provided hope and humanity to those in need, just as Guide Dogs Victoria is committed to creating welcoming and inclusive communities.

Come From Away opens in Melbourne on the back of winning multiple awards across North America and playing to standing-room-only audiences night after night on Broadway and Toronto. A West End production opened in February that has just been nominated for an impressive nine Olivier Awards.

Come From Away will donate $40 from the proceeds of each ticket to Guide Dogs Victoria sold for their performance on Wednesday 17 July tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.au.
