Iconic actor and comedian Bill Murray is set to tour Australia this November, alongside world-famous Cellist Jan Vogler.

The New Worlds tour will showcase the finest and most influential literary voices in American history, from Twain and Hemingway to Bernstein, Whitman and Cooper.

Jan Vogler’s involvement brings the project full circle to show the influence these voices had on the rest of the world, from how they influenced generations of Americans to the subsequent picture they projected of America’s unique charm, energy and creative force.

Bill Murray and Jan Vogler are said to have met during their travels, and quickly set about working together on this distinctive tour.

“Mr. Murray described the idea as ‘the collision of America and Europe,’ in part reflected in the backgrounds of each of the four members of his new group. ‘We are from four different continents,’ Vogler said.

“And when the continents come together, the music moves right across the peninsulas from one to the other. It’s just a short journey from one continent to the other.”

2018 will mark the tour’s premiere in Australia and New Zealand.

See Bill Murray and Jan Vogler perform New Worlds at the Plenary at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saurday 17 November. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
