The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2019 is promising to be an absolute blockbuster, and if the quality of their first music line-up is anything to go by the action doesn’t stop on the racetrack.
Taking place next September, some of the world’s biggest music acts will feature across the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix’s three days.
2018’s event saw 263,000 attendees at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, making it the second-highest three-day attendance in the race’s 11-year history. 2019 promises more thrilling off-track offerings with huge live performances planned across nine stages.
The first announcement already has us excited, with stadium rockers, party starts, and international icons all making their way to the circuit.
Saturday 21 September will host a trio of world-class talent. Leading the way is one of the world’s biggest rock bands Muse. At the top of their game for more than two decades, Muse have won two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. They’ll bring their recently released, sixth album Simulation Theory alongside a slew of huge hits to Zone 4 of the Circuit Park.
It doesn’t stop there because renowned British DJ and producer Fatboy Slim will also be along. The Grammy and Brit Award winner will have you moving to hits like Praise You, The Rockafeller Skank and Eat Sleep Rave Repeat. He’ll be joined on Zone 1 by American roots band Larkin Poe who will be making their Singapore debut. Fronted by sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, since being named the best discovery at Glastonbury in 2014 they’ve taken the world by storm. As an extra treat they’ll also perform in Zone 4 on Sunday 22 September.
Last – but definitely not least – to join the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix music line-up is none other than the group that coined the term ‘reggae’, we are of course talking about Toots and the Maytals. Getting audiences grooving around the world since the ’60s, the group as credited as key players in popularising the genre. They’ll be stopping by for two exciting performances on Friday 20 September (Zone 1) and Sunday 22 September (Zone 4).
