After a slow start to the 2019-20 season, the Illawarra Hawks return to WIN Entertainment Centre this weekend.

With their next two games at home, it presents a perfect opportunity for the Hawks to regain some form in their NBL campaign.

After travelling for four out of their six games so far this season, fans will be excited to see the Hawks return to Wollongong to take on the Perth Wildcats this Sunday 27 October, before backing it up against the Brisbane Bullets the following week on Sunday 3 November.

Next-generation star LaMelo Ball is rightly the talk of the league this season, opting to head to Australia to play rather than college basketball in the U.S.

The 18-year-old is a highly-touted prospect to go very high in the NBA draft when he is eligible next season. While his shooting has been questioned thus far, the impact the young star is having on both the league and his Hawks side is unquestioned.

Sitting fourth in the league for assists, at 5.5 per game, Ball only sits behind Aaron Brooks for points per game at the Hawks.

Ball has been a major contributor to some of the largest crowds the NBL has ever seen, and attendance records continuing to be smashed each week, with NBL Owner and Executive Chairman Larry Kestelman saying, “There is no doubt the NBL Next Stars players like LaMelo Ball, RJ Hampton, and Didi Louzada are also creating huge interest across the country.”

Brooks is having a stellar start to the season. Averaging 19.7 per game, including the highest tally this season with 31 points against the 36ers, and is now averaging 24.3 PPG from his past three.

After building an extremely strong Illawarra Hawks roster, the side is destined for big things this campaign. The season is still young and the Hawks side will be hoping to bounce back with two massive home games in the next week.
