Hobart International tickets are on sale now

International tennis is returning to Hobart this January.

The Hobart International sees the return of international tennis and the WTA Circuit to Hobart.

Held from Saturday 11 until Saturday 18 January 2020, the tournament will see some of the stars of the WTA battle it out in the lead up to the Australian Open later in the month.

The first two days of the tournament, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January will be a completely free family weekend. This means the whole weekend is free to enter and un-ticketed; simply show up and head on in. There’s a stack of activities locked in across the weekend including ANZ Tennis Hot Shots mini-courts, with the chance to meet and hit with some of the world’s best players. There will also be everything from jumping castles, face painting and food trucks to keep the kids (and kids at heart) satisfied all weekend long.

In a Hobart International first, kids under 14 will be able to attend the entire tournament (including the finals) free*, provided a ticket is purchased with an accompanying adult.

“We’re excited to be able to provide increased opportunities for families and young fans to attend the Hobart International in 2020,” says tournament director Darren Sturgess.

From Monday 13 until Saturday 18 January, the main draw will get underway, with both day and night sessions available for purchase before the Semi-Finals and Final take place with twilight sessions on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 January.

Three day passes for entry to any three days between Monday 13 and Thursday 16 January are also available for purchase.

Of course, there will be food and drink options aplenty, a host of entertainment off the court, plus adult social tennis and kids’ activities on offer. We’re talking local food trucks and a public beer garden.

While we can’t reveal everyone heading along to the Hobart International in 2020, we can promise world-class talent will be on display. “The Tournament has a reputation for unearthing emerging talent, with eight of the current top ten WTA – ranked players having played in the event in past years,” Sturgess says. “We’re excited to see which players will emerge as future stars this summer.”

You can be sure there will be a host of top WTA players on display in 2020. Stay tuned as competing players are announced closer to the event.
