Australian Open 2020
There is so much happening for the kids at Australian Open 2020, with ground passes only $5*.
With the Australian Open expanding bigger than ever before in 2020, let’s look at what will be on offer for the kids around the precinct from 20 January – 2 February.
$5 Kids tickets
The Australian Open remains one of the cheapest kid’s day outs you could possibly ask for. Children’s ground passes are available for just $5 (14 and under) and it’s not just tennis included in there.
Of course, you can wander all day and check out the action on the outside courts as the world’s best do battle at Melbourne Park.
But there is so much more to the precinct that will keep the kids entertained for days, even if you don’t watch a minute of tennis.
The AO Ballpark is designed for kids right up to 10 years old and runs from 10am – 7pm every day of the Open at Birrarung Marr.
The perfect activity zone for the kids, there will be everything from wading pools to a climbing wall. If you’ve got a couple of young ones with too much energy and a thrill for adventure, you can check out the obstacle course or zipline.
For the sporty ones, there is of course the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, where the kids can put their tennis skills to the test and mimic their idols on the court.
With lego activations, sandcastle building and stage shows and performances throughout the day, it’s all covered in the AO Ballpark.
For the older ones (we’re talking 10+), you can head up the hill at Birrarung Marr and explore the AO Hilltop.
There’ll be movie screenings, table tennis, sing alongs and a giant cabana oasis.
The sky flyer ride will take you to the highest vantage point of the Australian Open, and there’s even a Supersoaker Battlezone – the perfect way to cool down on those hot January days.
Kids Tennis Day
Before the Australian Open officially gets underway, the Kids Tennis Day will take over the precinct on Saturday 18 January.
With tickets again just $5 for kids, and only $10 for adults, head down early to check it all out and make the most of the summer.
What else is on?
ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Day will be held on Thursday 23 January, seeing the first 7,000 kids come into the precinct for free.
The AO Kids Club provides on site childcare for 5-12 year olds at Federation Square, so you can leave the kids and spend the day doing exactly what you wish. Book here now so you don’t miss out.
The Australian Open will run from 20 January to 2 February at Melbourne Park. Set to be the largest one yet, you don’t have to know tennis to love the tennis, with so much happening as the precinct expands across Birrarung Marr and Federation Square.
The kids will love the day out, with activities to keep them running around for hours. Book your tickets to the 2020 Australian Open now at Ticketmaster.com.au.
