With less than a month until the 2020 Supercars Championship Series launches, the Superloop Adelaide 500 have announced their new and improved City of Adelaide Family Zone.

Your home of all things family fun is moving this year, with the City of Adelaide Family Zone now taking over the spacious CBC Middle Oval (north of Wakefield Street) – meaning there is more room for activities for your little Supercar fans to enjoy.

Make sure you pack your bathers for the weekend, because monster slide, The Big Wedgie, is sure to become a family zone favourite. Calling itself the ‘World’s Tallest Inflatable Waterslide’ is no mean feat, so this thrilling adventure is definitely not for the faint of heart. Choose between The Big Wedgie (kids aged seven and over) and the Just Right Wedgie (perfect for kids four+), and get ready.

If you’d rather keep your feet on the ground, head over to the Rev It Up racing simulators or Pit Stop Challenge. Here, kids can take on the role of their favourite driver and team.

They can get behind the wheel to experience the excitement and adrenaline of car racing (even though the seats are scaled down to kids size, the action is as real as you can get outside of the track) or watch them join a pit crew to complete a pit stop with speed and accuracy.

There is also a stack of sports action landing at the Superloop Adelaide 500 in 2020 when some of South Australia’s favourite sports teams head to the family zone.

Kids can have a go at kicking and handballing with SANFL inflatables, serve up an ace or two at the Tennis SA Hot Shots Court, show off their shooting skills at Adelaide United‘s inflatable goals, or even practice batting, bowling, and catching with SACA’s Classic Catch and Single Lane Net.

This is an event for adrenaline fans, after all, so the championship-winning Factory Penrite Honda team will be on track for the first time ever to coach kids in the art of riding fun-dirtbikes, and they’ll be setting up an introductory track for riders between 6-10 years old and under 40kg.

Throw in some face painting and a display from Karting SA and you’ve got your family weekend out sorted.

The best part is, there is no additional cost for access to the family zone – and with up to four kids 14 and under admitted free on any one full-priced general admission ticket*, that’s a full day of fun at the Superloop Adelaide 500.

If you thought that was it, then you’re sorely mistaken. Also joining the off-rack entertainment in 2020 is the Moto X Step Up competition – a unique motocross competition that sees adrenaline-seekers from all over the world attempt to jump a bar as high as 55 feet.

There is also the epic music lineup that will take over the stage post-race each night. We already announced Hilltop Hoods, Illy, and G Flip will take to the stage to close out the Sunday night in spectacular fashion, but now we can also add ARIA Award winners Grinspoon, dance sensation Sneaky Sound System and Adelaide’s own The Superjesus on Friday night and Pete Murray and Sheppard on Saturday.

The Superloop Adelaide 500 will take over Adelaide Parklands Circuit from Thursday 20 February until Sunday 23 February. Tickets are now available from Ticketmaster.com.au.
