*Update: Wet Wet Wet have postponed their 2020 Australian tour. Their team are working diligently behind the scenes to lock in new your dates soon*
UK pop royalty Wet Wet Wet will make their long-awaited return to Australia in May 2020.
The release of their debut single ‘Wishing I Was Lucky’ back in 1987 set the band up for big things, but it was a string of covers – including their 1988 version of The Beatles’ ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ (their first number one) and their 1994 cover of The Troggs’ hit ‘Love Is All Around’ (which spent 15 weeks atop the British charts) – that really cemented the power of Wet Wet Wet.
In the three-plus decades since, and thanks to a phenomenal run of timeless releases, they have grown to become one of the most successful acts in British pop history. Thanks to singles like ‘Love is all Around’ and ‘Sweet Surrender’, they’ve spent a whopping 500 wees on the charts and had 27 official UK Top 40 singles.
For their May 2020 Australia run, the band are bringing their new lead singer Kevin Simm, winner of The Voice UK and former member of Liberty X, with them on tour.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve been to Australia! We love it there and can’t wait to play for our Australian fans as a thank you for all the support they’ve shown us over the years,” Wet Wet Wet says.
With every tour, the four-piece continues to further cement their reputation as one of the best live acts to come out of the UK. That’s why we can’t wait for their return to Australian shores.
