Burn the Floor is an electric combination of incredible dancing and popular music performed by a live band. The performers come from all over the world – Ireland, Italy, Russia, Australia, England and the UK – and they light up the stage with their incredible ability and passion for performance.

Each of the dancers have been dancing since they were children and many are competition winners and experts in their field.

Johannes and MeganWe were lucky enough to chat to two of the dancers, Megan Wragg and Johannes Radebe, who make up one hot dance pair.

Have a look at what they had to say about Burn the Floor.

Ticketmaster: Can you tell me a little about what the audience can expect to see at Burn the Floor?

Johannes: I personally think they will be taken on a journey because there is so much diversity when it comes to what to expect in terms of music, in terms of sets and in terms of the different talent from different countries. I just think it is a sexy, fun and a show that caters to all ages.

Megan: It’ll be a dance extravaganza! And it will be ballroom dancing but not like you’ve seen it before. So it will have a modern twist.

Ticketmaster: Which is your favourite dance to perform?

Johannes: I would say it is our solo between me and Megan. It is a contemporary, lyrical number, which is something different to ballroom and Latin. So that is what we love.

Megan: Mine’s the same, Kissing You, like Johannes said. And it is about losing a loved one and dealing with that.

Ticketmaster: When did you begin dancing?

Johannes: Seven.

Megan: I started when I was five.M&S

Ticketmaster: Can you tell me what you love most about performing at the Palms at Crown Melbourne?

Megan: For me it is really intimate. I’ve always said it reminds me a bit of Moulin Rouge. So you can have a drink and there’s a little light in between the tables for some of the seats and you can really connect with the audience.

Ticketmaster: Do you still get nervous when you take the stage to perform or is it just exhilarating?

Johannes: Question being “Am I nervous before I go on stage?” Well, nervous us an understatement – I am a mess! And I think if I didn’t feel nervous I would be a little bit worried because it is always different depending on, like Lauren said, how you feel on that day. But, yeah, it is a thing to overcome every day.

Megan: As dancers we always want every performance to be better than the last so every show I have butterflies.

Ticketmaster: Burn the Floor is made up of incredibly talented dancers and an amazing creative team. Can you tell me what it is like to be part of such an incredible production?

Johannes: For me, getting to work with this company, I have to say I will put it down to the producers of this show fist. I think it is incredible and what they bring to the table is fantastic. The fact that they alow us to be us when we hit the stage, giving us the freedom to be us on stage, I think that is quite phenomenal. And of course, beside the fact that everybody has got titles, everybody is a champion, we’ve got World Champions amongst us, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such passion and talent.

M&S cropTicketmaster: If you weren’t a performer, what would you be doing?

Johannes: I would be a nurse, that is what I would have done.

Megan: I think I’d open my own lingerie shop. From travelling I’ve seen that Australia doesn’t really have the best lingerie so I would open a shop like Victoria’s Secret.

Ticketmaster: Thanks for talking to us, Megan and Johannes. We look forward to seeing both of you on stage at the Palms.
