Get your party hats ready – legendary Aussie rockers Spiderbait have announced an exclusive, one-off show to celebrate their hit-laden career will go down in Melbourne this November.
It is set to be the ultimate victory lap – Spiderbait in all their glory, packing one special night with all their hits.
From three friends making music in a small Australian country town to holding fast as one of the biggest rock bands on the Australian roster 25 years later, Spiderbait’s rise has been phenomenal to watch.
Across their three-decade career, Spiderbait have added seven acclaimed albums to their catalogue – all of which have racked up gold, platinum, or double platinum status. Their mantle is also chockful of awards, they’ve pretty much scored every accolade you possibly can in Australia, having taken home numerous ARIA Awards, stringing together number one singles, and even topping the triple j Hottest 100 for their track ‘Buy Me A Pony’ in 1996.
Though there is one thing Spiderbait have never done, and this November they’ll be ticking it off their bucket lists.
The upcoming show at Forum Melbourne is sure to please old and new fans alike.“For the first time, we’ll be performing every one of our singles in order of release, from ‘Circle K’ way back in 1990 to now. It’s been great to look back at all these singles, from number 1s like ‘Black Betty’ and ‘Buy Me a Pony’ to my personal faves like ‘Calypso’, ‘Stevie’ and ‘It’s Beautiful’,” drummer and vocalist Kram says.
“They are like a diary of our lives bringing back memories from all the time we’ve been playing together. The same three country kids who formed a band for fun and ended up having this fucked up, brilliant, unexpected adventure.”
Spiderbait will play a one-off show in Melbourne to celebrate their singles this November. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.
