Rescheduled tour dates

Chillinit

Sydney rapper Chillinit has announced new dates to support his new album The Octagon, with a rescheduled tour ready to go down in April and May. The record came out in late January and debuted at #2 in the ARIA charts.

Tones And I

Is there a bigger Australian artist right now than Tones And I? We don’t think so. Fresh off the back of some standout sets at Laneway Festival, the global breakout artist is ready to bring her swag of killer, catchy tunes to venues right around the country.

The Rubens

If you thought you might’ve had to miss out on The Rubens’ biggest run of shows since their 2018 tour behind LO LA RU, rest assured, the guys have rescheduled their Australian tour dates. The tour is in celebration of The Rubens’ 2019 single ‘Live In Life’ but it will also be our first chance to hear their latest single ‘Heavy Weather’ live.

Rod Stewart

Sir Rod Stewart is set to make a triumphant return to Australian stages in 2022. It’s been 50 years (we can’t believe it either) since Stewart released his first solo album An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down, across the last five decades, he has scored nine #1 albums and 26 top ten singles in the UK, as well as 17 top ten albums and 16 top ten singles in the US.

Wet Wet Wet

UK pop royalty Wet Wet Wet will make their long-awaited return to Australia in 2021. The release of their debut single ‘Wishing I Was Lucky’ back in 1987 set the band up for big things, but it was a string of covers – including their 1988 version of The Beatles’ ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ (their first number one) and their 1994 cover of The Troggs’ hit ‘Love Is All Around’ (which spent 15 weeks atop the British charts) – that really cemented their power. In the three-plus decades since, and thanks to a phenomenal run of timeless releases, they have grown to become one of the most successful acts in British pop history.

Louis Tomlinson

After releasing his debut solo album Walls back in January, we are absolutely excited to announce that British popstar Louis Tomlinson will make his first-ever solo trip to Australia next year. Originally scheduled to visit in April 2020, Tomlinson will now arrive Down Under in June 2021.

5 Seconds of Summer

They’ve been taking the world by storm, now 5 Seconds of Summer have announced that their huge Australian homecoming tour – originally locked in for November and December – will see the boys return to our shores in March 2021. This rescheduled tour will be the first chance for Aussie 5SOS fans to hear tracks from their brilliant new album Calm up close and in person.

Come From Away

Smash-hit musical Come From Away have announced that their Sydney season will now open in 2021 after heading to Melbourne. If you’re unfamiliar with Come From Away‘s incredible story, the production is based on the true story of thousands of passengers diverted to the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland in Canada following the events of September 11, 2001. It’s a story of comradery and the capacity for human kindness, even in the hardest of times.

Fastlove: A Tribute To George Michael

Relive the passion, the flare, and the unique sensitivity of George Michael in this incredible tribute concert when it lands Down Under in April 2021. Fastlove features a professional cast of singers, dancers, a full band and the incredible Andrew Browning as George Michael to create an authentic sound and mind-blowing visuals for a spectacular show.

Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive’s massive area tour, originally locked in for June, is now set to land in July 2021. The rescheduled tour dates, including some of their biggest ever Australian headline shows, will be Byron Bay metal giants’ first in quite a while. Zoot

One of Australia’s biggest rock bands of the late ’60s & early ’70s are set to reform, with original band members – Beeb Birtles, Rick Springfield and Rick Brewer – joined by close friend Russell Morris. ZOOT’s first Australian shows in nearly 50 years are dedicated to original lead singer, Darryl Cotton, who passed away in 2012.

Under The Southern Stars

Following all the goodness of last year’s instalment, one-day festival extraordinaire Under The Southern Stars is ready to return with a huge 2021 event. Originally locked in for April 2020, the new dates will see the one-day ’90s festival extraordinaire land in February and March. The same stellar lineup will be back, with +Live+, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Rose Tattoo and Electric Mary all confirmed to perform.

Patti Smith

Originally locked in to perform at Byron Bay Bluesfest alongside a run of sold-out headline shows, absolute legend Patti Smith and her band will now grace Australian stages in March 2021. When the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee last landed on our shores in 2017, for a performance at Bluesfest and a string of headline shows, we were told they would be her last Down Under. But thankfully, things have changed. “I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to come back – so I’m delighted that I was wrong,” Patti Smith says. And just like that, the Godmother of Punk will be with us once again.

The show dates, originally scheduled for April alongside an appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest, will now see Benson on our shores in March and April 2021. Frozen The Musical

Originally set for a July 2020 premiere, Frozen The Musical has rescheduled their season at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre. Frozen The Musical is based on the 2013 film of the same name that brought us the inescapable singalong hit ‘Let It Go’. The Broadway production has become a classic in its own right, featuring a creative team that has a collective 16 Tony awards to its credit and continually appearing as one of the top ten best-selling Broadway shows. When the production lands in Australia, Jemma Rix and Courtney Monsma will be taking on the much-loved and exciting roles of Elsa and Anna, respectively.

Tori Kelly

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocal powerhouse Tori Kelly honours her deepest musical passion and delivers an R&B-infused, infectiously melodic take on classic gospel throughout her heartfelt live performances. Kelly says, “Playing these songs live is a reminder that everyone goes through these sorts of things, and we all need to know that we’re not alone. If I were to put out an album that didn’t talk about these personal stories, I would just be faking it and hiding from the truth.”

Lindsey Stirling

After a three-year absence, electronic violinist, dancer, and composer, Lindsey Stirling is still headed back to Australia to support her fifth studio album, 2019’s ArtemisStirling confirmed in a Facebook post saying, “Australia, while I’m disappointed I won’t be seeing you this month as planned, I am excited to share that we have rescheduled the dates for May 2021! I can’t wait to bring the Artemis tour to you next year and I hope that you can hold on to your tickets.”

Bon Iver

Don’t panic, the incredible Bon Iver is still bringing his music to Australian stages, it’s just a little later than he’d first planned. Bon Iver’s last extensive tour of Australia was back in 2012, though the band performed in Sydney for Vivid LIVE in 2016. Next year’s shows come off the back of the band’s sensational fourth album i,i (pronounced eye-comma-eye) which was released in August 2019.

Magic Mike

By now you’ve seen the films (probably more than a few times), but the live show is an evening you have to experience for yourself. Based on the hit movies Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL and conceived and co-directed by Channing Tatum himself, Magic Mike Live has been described as nothing less than a thrilling, sexy, live dance and acrobatic spectacular.

L7

Legendary Los Angeles grunge band L7 will now bring their comeback record, Scatter The Rats, to our shores in May 2021. The all-female force were one of the most influential bands of the ’90s, and if their 2016 Australian tour was anything to go by, the band proved they have lost none of their grit or power.

Mallrat

Her smash-hit single ‘Charlie’ – written about her beloved family dog – is still giving us in the feels, and now Mallrat will take the single, alongside the rest of the glittery tracks from her recent EP Driving Music, on the road in January 2021.

Boy and Bear

Boy & Bear will return home for a huge Australian headline tour to support their brilliant comeback album Suck On Light in November 2020. “It probably comes as no surprise that in the interest of everybody’s health and safety, we’ve had to postpone,” Boy & Bear says. “By keeping your tickets, you keep your funds in the industry at a time when it really needs it, and you help us avoid doubling up on our promotion costs for the rescheduled dates.”

Crooked Colours

Perth trio Crooked Colours have moved all tour dates to September 2020. While the tour was initially meant to take place before the band locked down to work on their third album, a silver lining might be that we get to hear some sneaky new Crooked Colours treats when the rescheduled tour rolls around. Both support acts – Set Mo and George Alice – are locked and loaded for the new dates too.

Dom Dolla

Electronic producer Dom Dolla has rescheduled his tour dates for October. Dolla says,“Hey Australia, thanks for being so patient on the status of my May tour… it’s been an absolute jigsaw puzzle to find new dates amidst all of this madness…I can’t wait to tear the roof off with you all once we’re all allowed out of the house. In the meantime: stay safe, hold onto your tickets and I’ll see you in October.”

Fisher

We knew Fisher wouldn’t leave us hanging, so we’re pretty stoked to hear that his Australian Beach Party is still going ahead – just a little later than originally planned. For his first-ever headline tour on Australian soil, he has assembled a who’s who of his Australian and international mates including Booka Shade and Pnau.

Thelma Plum

Following a huge 2019, which included releasing her debut album Better In Blak, and becoming the first Indigenous artist to crack the Hottest 100’s top ten, Gamilaraay singer-songwriter Thelma Plum was ready to embark on a month-long national tour. Now her team have announced that her Homecoming Queen tour will still go ahead, just a little bit later in the year.

Confidence Man

Confidence Man closed out 2019 on a high with their groovy track ‘Doesn’t It Make You Feel Good?’ as well as making celeb fans out of U2 and Noel Gallagher. If you thought that they’d skip their first Australian headline tour in two years, think again. Confidence Man are still ready to strut around the nation, taking their new tour dates to May 2021.

Waax
It’s hard to deny the fact that Waax are one of the finest punk acts Australia currently has to offer. And fronted by the inimitable force that is Maz DeVita, the past few years have seen the band establish themselves as one of the most razor-sharp, hardest-hitting acts you’ll find. You’ve still got a chance to experience all the Waax glory, with rescheduled tour dates ready to go.

Violent Femmes
It was their self-titled debut album back in 1983 that shot American folk-punks Violent Femmes to international attention, and they’ve stayed in our hearts ever since. Now the band were set to bring their tenth studio album Hotel Last Resort Down Under.

The National

After releasing their eighth studio album I Am Easy To Find back in May, rockers The National are now ready to share it on the live stage with Australian fans – and they’ve chosen some perfectly lush venues to host the nights. Put December 2020 in your diaries, pronto. That’s right, the band are still gracing our shores, just a few months later than originally planned.

Ocean Alley

We might have to wait a little longer to enjoy Ocean Alley’s first national tour since 2018, but at least the band have given us something special to look forward to in the new year. Making these shows even more special, support acts Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Dulcie are also confirmed.

Karnivool

Sound Awake was an album that captured a moment perfectly. A decade on and the album still sounds as fresh and boundary-pushing as it did the first time we heard it. For a few special nights, Karnivool were locked in to play the whole album from start to finish – an Australian exclusive we have been counting down to.

Tim Minchin

Perth comedy extraordinaire Tim Minchin was set to bring an encore of his incredible Back tour around Australia this March. For a little refresher – BACK originally marked Minchin’s first Australian tour after a seven-year absence from the stage. It sold out in record-breaking time and scored Minchin a Helpmann Award for Best Australian Contemporary Concert.

By The C

It might be going down a few months later, but do not worry, the latest instalment of By The C still has the same legendary Aussie lineup we’d all been gearing up for. Icehouse, Pete Murray, You Am I, Tex Perkins, and Killing Heidi are all still ready to take over Perth’s City Beach Reserve later this year. Don’t miss out.

Spring Loaded

Although they’ve had to shuffle things around, Spring Loaded Festival could not pass up the opportunity to offer us a throwback to the days of iconic Aussie festivals like Big Day Out and Homebake. Both the Sydney and Queensland dates have been rescheduled. While all original bands have been locked in, a scheduling conflict means You Am I have been replaced by Jebediah.

Sydney: Grinspoon | You Am I Jebediah | Magic Dirt | Frenzal Rhomb | Custard | Tumbleweed | Screamfeeder | Caligula | MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall
Queensland: Grinspoon | You Am I | Regurgitator | Shihad | Magic Dirt | The Fauves | The Meanies | Screamfeeder | MC Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall

New tour dates still to come

Artists and their teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes to lock in new tour dates for us all. While we can’t confirm everything right now, there are still a number of artists who are preparing to announce new tour dates soon. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.

How can you help out the industry?

If you have the means, we encourage you to keep hold of any tickets you might currently have for any of these rescheduled shows. By keeping your ticket, you keep funds in the industry when it is most needed. It also means the artists don’t have to start their marketing campaign all over again, therefore, saving money and resources in promoting the shows.

Also, if you have the means, or if a show you were planning to go to is cancelled, consider donating your refunds or a portion of your refund directly to the venue or to Support Act. You can read more about what they do here.

For a full list of all cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, and for all FAQs, head to our Event Status Updates.
