After sold-out US and European tours during 2017 and 2018, Rock N Roll Hall of Famers Red Hot Chili Peppers most recently undertook three massive headline shows at Lollapalooza South America.

Now, we finally have news that they are set to break their Down Under drought and return to our stages in early 2019.

The Peppers are one of the most successful acts in rock history, often performing in front of stadium and festival audiences in excess of 100,000. They’ll be trying something a little different when they kick off the tour with a rare, intimate show at Hobart’s Derwent Entertainment Centre. The February date will make the first time the band have ever travelled to Tasmania.

As well as playing arenas around the country, RHCP will also play some special open-air concerts at in the Hunter Valley and at A Day on The Green at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong.

It’s hard to predict what we can expect from a Chili Peppers show – but as well as choice cuts from their latest album The Getaway, we’re sure to be singalong to their greatest hits like By the Way, Can’t Stop, Otherside, and Californication.

As an added treat, Aussie fans might also get to hear new RHCP tunes. According to Instagram, the band have recently been in the studio working on the follow-up to The Getaway.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to release their new album in 2019. The three-year break between The Getaway and the next album will be the Chili Peppers’ quickest album turnaround since the break between 1999’s Californication and 2002’s By the Way.
