Two shows are always better than one – especially when you missed out on tickets the first time around. Here are a stack of our favourite artists who are making sure that no one misses out on the good times.

Crooked Colours

Perth-based indie-electro trio Crooked Colours are gearing up to make their way around the country next month in support of their second album Langata (due out Friday 17 May). The band are promising these shows are set to be something special. As well as a setlist stretching all the way back to their first ever release, Crooked Colours have also curated the night and designed the lighting and visuals. They’ve had quite an extended break leading into these recent shows, so you can bet the band are raring to go. As well as a show at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Saturday 18 May, Crooked Colours will be providing a double serving to Melbourne fans with shows at The Forum on Saturday 25 May and Sunday 26 May. David Gray

Following the release of his 11th album, Gold In A Brass Age, David Gray will bring his much-loved songbook to Australian stages. The BAFTA, Brit and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is no stranger to Australian stages and ears, and across his storied career, he has gone 27 times platinum, notched up three number-one albums in his native UK, and continues to sell out theatres and rooms across the world. Thankfully for us, he is still going strong and we can’t wait for him to arrive in April. As an added bonus, Melbourne fans get to spend two nights with the legend. He’ll be at Palais Theatre on Friday 19 April and Saturday 20 April, tickets are on sale now.

James Blake

With four critically-acclaimed albums under his belt – alongside a swag of awards nominations and big wins (hello Mercury Prize) – James Blake, and his honey-smooth vocals have graced some of the most prestigious stages, rooms, and festivals around the world. We are pretty stoked with the news that he’ll be returning to Australia as part of this year’s Splendour In The Grass, and even more so with the news that he’ll be throwing in some more intimate sideshows along the way. Melbourne’s Forum is in his sights, and a night with James Blake is in ours. With his first Melbourne show (on Friday 19 July) selling out super fast, Blake has gone and blessed us with a second. Tickets to his show on Saturday 20 July are on sale now.

Metallica 

We’re sure you already know by now that metal titans Metallica and Slipknot are teaming up for an Australia tour that is not to be missed. Due to extraordinary demand, Melbourne fans have been gifted a second date – get your necks ready for this, we don’t want anyone pulling a muscle from all the headbanging that’s sure to ensue. As well as their sold-out Marvel Stadium show on Tuesday 22 October, they’ll be storming through the venue on Thursday 24 October. Good things really do come in pairs. Methyl Ethel

Perth’s music scene is absolutely thriving at the moment and Methyl Ethel are right there at the front of the pack. The brainchild of Jake Webb is a weird and wonderful delight, and on their latest record Triage, the band play to their pop sensibilities – but in a way that flips convention on its head, revealing something new and hidden with every listen. The grandiosity of this art-tock extravaganza is sure to grow in the live setting, so – thankfully for Melbourne fans – alongside their original Thursday 20 July date at The Forum, Methyl Ethel will return for a second show on Friday 21 June. Ray LaMontagne

Returning to Australian stages for the first time in a decade (Hi Ray, we’ve missed you mate.) it’s no surprise that Australian fans are stoked to see Ray LaMontagne when he lands here next month. For those not in the know, LaMontagne’s gorgeous, brooding tunes have been compared to the likes of Otis Redding, Van Morrison, and Tim Buckley – which is some pretty good company if you ask us. These shows are set to be a lush, intimate affair so get ready to get cosy. Making sure fans don’t miss out, it’s double shows all round here. LaMontagne will perform two nights at Sydney’s State Theatre (on Wednesday 24 April, and a new show on Thursday 25 April) and two nights at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre (on Saturday 27 April, and a new show on Sunday 28 April). Ricki-Lee

Since she burst onto our screens and into our hearts on Australian Idol back in 2004 (can you believe its been 15 years?) Ricki-Lee has become an absolute darling of the Australian pop music scene. To celebrate her fantastic career so far (we’re talking ARIA nominations, number one singles, top ten albums, double platinum sales – you name it!) she’ll be performing some pretty special shows around the country. As well as a full set of her most career-defining moments – from her biggest performances on Australian Idol including Proud Mary and Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough to her massive hit singles like Do It Like That and Raining Diamonds – she’ll also perform a set of songs from Golden Globe-winning film A Star Is Born. We haven’t stopped listening to the soundtrack since it came out, so we’re extra excited about this show. Alongside shows at Anita’s Theatre, Thirroul (Friday 11 October), State Theatre, Sydney (Saturday 12 October), The Tivoli, Brisbane (Friday 18 October), she’ll perform two special nights at The Palms at Crown Melbourne on Friday 24 May (sold out) and Friday 13 December. Ruel

From becoming the youngest ever performer on triple j’s Like A Version, the youngest solo artist to win an ARIA Award, and now the youngest male artist to headline the Sydney Opera House – pop singer-songwriter Ruel is breaking records left, right, and centre. Now he’ll perform some of his biggest headline shows yet when he hits the road this May. We are certain this is as intimate as it is ever going to get for Ruel fans. After he pops into Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday 5 May, he’ll treat Melbourne fans to two special nights at The Forum on Friday 10 May as well as a new show on Wednesday 8 May. Tickets on sale now.

Skegss

Following their huge results in this year’s triple j Hottest 100 countdown and the reception they received at Laneway Festival, it’s clear you all can’t get enough of Skegss. Neither can we, so we’re pretty darn stoked to know they’ll be taking their latest album My Own Mess on the road this July. This tour will see the rowdy trio playing their biggest headline venues ever, and they’ll be bringing mates like Aaron Gocs, TOTTY and Mini Skirt along with them. This tour is huge. As well as shows at Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide (Thursday 4 July) and Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane (Saturday 27 July), the Skegss guys will play a trio of shows at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre. They’ve locked in a show on Saturday 13 July, as well as a double-whammy (an 18+ and an under 18s show) on Sunday 14 July. Tickets on sale now.
