Largely recorded in 1969 – long before the band’s eleventh released album Abbey Road – features many much loved Beatles songs. Some of Paul McCartney’s best songwriting can be found on the eternally celebrated title track, rocker ‘Get Back’ and the melodic ‘The Long and Winding Road’, and ‘Across The Universe’ might just be John Lennon’s opus. George Harrison put the final stamp of approval on his songwriting chops – and led brilliantly into his own solo career – with ‘I Be Mine’, while ‘Two of Us’ shows that no matter how tense the mood, when Lennon and McCartney harmonise together, it is pure beauty.
Now some of Australia’s most-loved and celebrated musicians – who are all self-confessed Beatles tragics – will come together to bring The Beatles’ closing chapter to life on stage.
Collectively known as ARC, the group will feature Kram (Spiderbait), Mark Wilson (Jet), Davey Lane (You Am I) and Darren Middleton (Powderfinger). Together they’ll perform Let It Be in full, from start to finish, followed by a second set covering the breadth of the Beatles’ rich catalogue.
Joining ARC live on stage throughout the night will be a host of special guests.
ARC will pay tribute to The Beatles with Let It Be Live this July. Tickets are on sale Wednesday 14 April via Ticketmaster.com.au.
