Being at the helm of one of the world’s greatest rock bands should give you a few stories to tell.

So it’s no wonder that Iron Maiden’s iconic frontman Bruce Dickinson has announced plans to bring a spoken word tour to Australia.

The tour comes as support for Dickinson’s new autobiography release, What Does This Button Do?, which fans will get a signed copy of when they buy tickets to any date on the tour.

Fans will also get the chance to participate in a Q&A session with the Iron Maiden legend, in which he plans to answer questions on everything from beer brewing and scriptwriting, to the small matter of music.

Dickinson has fronted Iron Maiden since 1981, debuting as the vocalist on their 1982 album, The Number of the Beast.

The metal icon isn’t short of accomplishments outside of music either, having undertaken a side career as a commercial pilot, presenting his own radio show back in 2002 – 2010, hosting TV documentaries, writing novels and film scripts, brewing a successful beer and competing at fencing internationally. No biggie.

Bruce Dickinson will take his tour across Australia this October, including a date at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Friday 19 October – tickets are available now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
