Grinspoon announce Chemical Hearts Australian tour
Aussie rockers Grinspoon are set to take their Chemical Hearts tour around Australia this October and November.
Nostalgia will well and truly be in the air when Grinspoon bring their Chemical Hearts tour to stages around Australia later this year.
It’s been more than 20 years since Grinspoon uploaded their track ‘Sickfest’ to triple j Unearthed and won Unearthed’s inaugural national band comp. The young band could never have predicted what was to follow.
Across the last two decades, Grinspoon have become one of Australia’s most loved rock acts. With seven albums and a slew of ARIA Awards and nominations under their belts, they have never been short of critical success. But on the live stage is where the band have truly rules. With more than 1000 gigs to their names – including seven Big Day Out appearances alongside slots at other hallmark festivals and events including Homebake, Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, and Melbourne’s Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony – Grinspoon are well and truly masters of live performance.
Thankfully for us, they aren’t planning to slow down any time soon. The Chemical Hearts tour is set to be packed with fan favourites, as well as paying homage to all the music that has come since the release of their debut album Guide To Better Living.
Lead vocalist Phil Jamieson can’t wait to get out on the road, saying, “We’re super excited to be doing this tour. We don’t get out much anymore and our last one focused primarily on our first record and this one will take a more broad approach to the little nuggets of songs that came between 1995 and 2013.”
It’s not all throwbacks though, because some of the most exciting up and coming acts in Australian rock music will also be along for the ride. Powerhouse duo The Hard Aches, garage-pop twosome The Gooch Palms, and loveable Brisbane punks (and one of our Artists to Watch in 2019) Bugs will all take support duties on the tour.
“These concerts will have a very exciting atmos due to the individual scintillating performances by these amazing acts,” Jamieson says of the lineup. “Ripper bands. Great times. Classic hits.”
