Eskimo Joe – Black Fingernails, Red Wine

Some of these songs have never been played live before, but every song on each of these albums means so much to us and signifies such an important time in our lives and our career as a band. We can’t wait to relive them all with you.

Kav Temperley, Eskimo Joe lead singer

Eskimo Joe truly arrived on the Australian scene with A Song Is A City‘s debut single ‘From The Sea’. Landing in the Australian Top 40, it helped drive the album to debut at #2 on the ARIA Album chart.

The powerful storytelling of other tracks like ‘Smoke’, ‘Older Than You’, and ‘Life Is Better With You’ have also stood the test of time, still sounding as powerful as they did almost 20 years ago.

Following up such an album is no mean feat, but it’s fair to say that Eskimo Joe became almost inescapable after the release of Black Fingernails, Red Wine.

Marking the band’s first #1 Australian album, and featuring unforgettable classics like the eponymous single, ‘Sarah’, ‘New York’, and ‘London Bombs’, it spent 62 weeks in the ARIA top 50, won four ARIA Awards, and sold four times platinum.

The tour announcement lands alongside the release of Eskimo Joe’s brand new single, ’99 Ways’ – a self-described “isolation love song”. It follows their 2020 single ‘Say Something’ – the band’s first new music since 2013. So expect to hear some new tunes on this tour too.

Eskimo Joe will take their Black Fingernails Red Wine In The City tour around Australia in March and April 2022. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.
