Eagles announce two huge 2020 shows in London

Following a whirlwind tour of Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, American rock legends the Eagles will return to the UK in August, bringing their Hotel California tour to Europe for the first time.

The band will take to the stage at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August 2020 to celebrate their seminal album Hotel California, playing the album in its entirety followed by a set of their greatest hits.

Eagles recently played three sold-out performances of the iconic album in Las Vegas, the first time the Eagles have ever performed Hotel California in its entirety. The concerts featured 77 musicians on stage, including a 46-piece orchestra and 22-voice choir.

Billboard gave the concerts a rave review, stating: “The band performed the album from front to back, following with a blazing greatest hits set that had the audience at the sold-out arena constantly on its feet”.

Hotel California is the third best-selling album in US history and has been certified 26 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA). Released in 1976, the album gifted us singles ‘Life In The Fast Lane’, ‘New Kid In Town’ and the title track, ‘Hotel California’.

Formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971, the Eagles cemented their place as not only the best-selling American band of the ’70s but also one of the top-selling acts of all time – selling more than 150 million albums worldwide.

Their mantlepiece is absolutely heaving with awards and accolades – including scoring six #1 albums and five #1 singles, six Grammy Awards (including Record of the Year in 1977 for the ‘Hotel California’ single) and five American Music Awards.

The band first disbanded in July 1980, before reuniting again 14 years later for the album, Hell Freezes Over. Eagles were then inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 (their first year of eligibility) and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The Eagles will return to the UK in August 2020 performing Hotel California in its entirety in what will be their only European concerts of the year.
