The sun is shining, the air is crisp and a whole heap of bands have just confirmed sideshows for Splendour In The Grass 2018.

Yassss. And we’ve got tickets for some of the biggest sideshows going on sale this week.

First up is Franz Ferdinand and MGMT, who will play two headline dates down under in July; one in Melbourne and a second in Sydney.

The co-headline gigs mark both acts’ first visit to Aus in five years, so they’re making sure it counts.

We’ll have tickets for Franz Ferdinand and MGMT at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Tuesday 24 July.

Glasgow four-piece, Franz Ferdinand, remain one of the UK’s biggest indie exports of the last two decades, returning to Australia on the back of announcing a huge world tour and dropping their fifth record, Always Ascending.

The band have their 2004 self-titled debut album to thank for catapulting them to major global commercial and critical success, for which they won the 2004 Mercury Music Prize, and secured unreal chart success with hit single, Take Me Out.

Meanwhile, Grammy-nominated duo, MGMT (Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser), have been one of the genre’s most innovative outfits since their 2008 debut, Oracular Spectacular.

Having released their fourth full-length, Little Dark Age, earlier this year, MGMT have enjoyed another run of huge single releases and a hectic touring schedule taking them across the globe and back again.

The Wombats will also headline Festival Hall while they’re in Australia for Splendour.

UK indie royalty, The Wombats will return to the legendary Melbourne venue on Thursday 19 July.

Electro producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Elderbrook, has also been confirmed as support for the sideshow, adding another layer irresistible tempos to proceedings.

Fans of The Wombats can rest assured they’ll be packing their set with all their biggest hits, alongside new favourites from latest album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life.

You’ll want to have your mates nearby when tracks like Lemon To A Knife Fight and Cheetah Tongue drop.
