Brisbane four-piece Cub Sport have announced their biggest Australian tour yet, taking place in April.

Cub Sport will play two performances in their hometown of Brisbane at  The Tivoli, including an all-ages matinee show, as well as a headline show at Melbourne’s Festival Hall.

The tour is in celebration of their forthcoming self-titled album, due out globally on Friday 18 January. Cub Sport follows up the band’s 2017 release BATS, a record which saw singles like Hawaiian Party and Chasin’ become fan favourites.

So far, we’ve heard a trio of singles from Cub Sport; the retro-feeling Sometimes, the dreamy floating Summer Lover, and the just-dropped pop anthem Party Pill – setting things up for a very exciting record.

The album was primarily recorded and produced by frontman Tim Nelson, and documents all the lessons he has learned since completely embracing his sexuality and marrying fellow bandmate Sam Netterfield. “This is the first body of work I’ve created entirely since being out, so in a way, I feel like this is the first album I’ve written entirely as myself and it feels powerful,” he says.

Cub Sport will perform twice at The Tivoli, Brisbane on Saturday 6 April and Festival Hall, Melbourne on Saturday 13 April. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com.au.
