Chance The Rapper talks new music and Kanye West’s influence

Word has it Chance The Rapper is working on his first album following the success of three mixtapes.

The Chicago rapper is due to play Australia early next year with headline dates plotted for Melbourne and Sydney in January 2017.

During his recent Coloring Book tour in the UK, Chance stopped by BBC 1 Xtra to talk in-depth with DJ Semtex and revealed details about his plans for new material. He also reflects on his relationship and subsequent work with Kanye West.

“I don’t know exactly the format every time when I’m making something but a lot of times I have an idea, and I think what I’m working on right now is an album,” he explained. Admitting that his history of mixtapes can be confusing, “Mixtapes have been confused for albums for a long time so it has to be something different.”

So if you thought the mixtapes were good, we can only imagine how his album is going to take shape.
