Artist Spotlight: Angie McMahon

Get to know Melbourne musician, Angie McMahon.

Melbourne singer-songwriter Angie McMahon is heading out on her first Aussie headline tour this September and we can’t wait to catch her on home turf.

Right off the back of her Splendor debut, we’re expecting big things from this one. Angie wowed audiences over the weekend, being praised for her unique vocals and effortlessness on stage. Everyone seems pretty dang excited for a headline show and so are we.

McMahon has teased fans with three tracks over the last 12 months and we’re holding tight for an album release date. Since releasing catchy alt-pop song Slow Mover in 2017, things have been moving pretty fast for the singer-songwriter, especially thanks to such great support from the likes of triple j unearthed. She’s clearly a fan of artists old and new, with her stunning cover of Silver Springs only furthering her appeal last year.

It’s not long until Angie lights up the Forum’s stage in Melbourne, headlining on 6 September 2018, but she’s not coming alone. She’ll be bringing Canadian singer-songwriter Leif Vollebekk, who Angie is a massive fan of, having said previously, “this is beyond exciting because he’s one of my favourite artists in the whole world. I’ve been living alongside his music for so long, and when we reached out to him to see if he was interested in making the trip from Canada to Aus for this tour, he said YES!” So there’s double the reason to be stoked for September 6th.

Why we love all three of Angie’s singles so far:

Keeping Time

The newest single from Angie, those instrumentals at the beginning are something special. This proves this girl can give us a hat trick when it comes to great songs.

Missing Me

This song is punchy as with some strong, powerful lyrics.

Slow Mover

The song that started it all. Catchy, fresh and folky all at once rolled up in this beautiful tune.
