Following the release of last year’s All Mirrors, Angel Olsen has announced a very exciting run of Australian shows for later this year.
She is the patron saint of writing tune that reach to the heart of jaded souls, and All Mirrors did nothing to change that reputation. While her music has grown from lo-fi folk to rock’n’roll and synth-pop, and her sound moved further into the left-field, her message has always remained the same.
Rolling Stone described it as one of “the best sounding records this year, deserving to be cranked on a good sound system — an album to spend time with, to fall into, to shut up and let yourself be kissed by” while The Guardian says, “What’s striking…is how skilful it is at upending the listener’s preconceptions, never turning out quite as you assume it will…Nothing on All Mirrors ends up quite where you expect, including the artist who made it.
While on record, Angel Olsen is exquisite, her live show takes the experience to a whole new level entirely.
When she lands Down Under in a few months, she’ll be joined by her six-piece band, including strings to help bring the full All Mirrors experience to life. This will be her first full-band tour in Australia since 2017.
As well as performing all your All Mirrors favourites in their full splendour, as an added treat fans will also get to hear tracks from Olsen’s entire catalogue – including the likes of ‘Shut Up And Kiss Me’ and ‘Unfucktheworld’ – many of which will be reworked to include string arrangements.
Get ready to be transported to an otherworldly, ethereal place.
